Hair Inspiration for the Little Girls

Just realized it's been a while since I did a post on children's hair. So I headed over to YouTube and Tumblr to give all the parents reading some inspiration. Don't forget you include your children in the hair styling choice, they will think it's more fun if they get to be a part of the choosing. Some may also love watching the tutorials with you, I know my baby girl does. :)

This style is easy to do and very cute. It will look good on different hair lengths as well. I like the idea of the knockers as well to add some weight to the twists which will keep them stretched. Another good thing about this style is that it keeps the hair detangled, and is very easy to redo if it frizzes up.

I really like this style because it looks very complicated but if you can cornrow, it's not. The beads on the ends are of course optional, I think it'll look cute without them too. You could also gather the hair on the side in a pony tail for an afro puff, or do a twist out pony tail.

Here's a cute twist out for a little girl using flat twists. You can let your child sleep with the twists and take them out the next day instead of using heat on your child's hair.

Love this pic! This is a simple style as well, a frohawk with cornrow style braids or twists one the side, one on each side. And a cute little hair accessory :) Don't underestimate hair accessories! It's one of those things that can make hair care more fun for your daughter, let her pick her own accessories, or match them to her clothes, etc.

This is a great style to keep hair out of the face: cornrows or flat twists in the front and loose hair in the back. This style can also be altered by doing two pig tails or braids/chunky twists with the hair in the back.

This little cutie is one of the Cph naturals' daughter. Thank you for letting me use this pic Khalisa!
Twist out, which can be the base of so many styling options.

Don't forget to mist the hair with water daily, regardless of style. And if you can get your child to sleep with a scarf or a bonnet the style will last longer. Use the products you are used to using on your child's hair, don't run out and buy a bunch of new products just to do your child's hair. Doing your child's hair while she is watching a movie or coloring is a great tip. For more tips for parents visit the For Parents Page
