Night Time Routine & Male Company

I've had this conversation with most of my naturalista friends, and it's time for a blog post about it. :) This question always comes up; What do you do when you have male company over night when it comes to protecting your hair?
Most naturalistas say if you want to maintain moisture you need to wrap your hair up at night because the cotton pillow cases absorb the moisture out of your hair. So if you always wake up with dry tangled hair then now you know why.

So of course there are options for night time hair protection; satin/silk scarf, satin/silk bonnet, satin/silk pillow case. Now, this may be easy when you are single, you just pop on your bonnet and go to bed. But, what can you do when you have male company? However briefly or long term. Though a satin bonnet may be useful, admit it, you look like Little Red Riding Hood's grandma wearing it! It's not a cute or sexy look. (Of course some guys may like that look, then hey, whatever floats your boat, lol) Of course if he loves you he won't care if you wear a bonnet or a scarf to bed, that's what everyone says. But at the beginning of a relationship most of us are concerned with looking good, even when it's bed time, we are still trying to impress him, right?

So I posted this question on Twitter to see what #teamnatural would have to say about it:

Thanks ladies for your input!
I love how MadameFancyPants said "wait 'til he sleeps" hahaha! Then you set your alarm real early and get up and take it off before he wakes up?

Every time someone brings up this issue with me I think of this

I love Cipriana's comment about her boyfriend, haha!

Another option is to seek out a man with locs or cornrows or some style that needs to be protected as well, then you can both go to bed with your scarves/bonnets/durag/dreadsock/whatever and he won't care and you won't care either. ;)
DreadSock
These work for both males and females.
And I think they are a great option for longer hair, not only for locs.

If you have any other comments or thoughts feel free to leave them below! I wonder if this is an issue for lesbian couples? Hm... who can I ask...?
I would love to hear from some guys on this; do men care if we wear scarves/bonnets to bed?
