Hair Talk, Samples and More Hair Talk
Today I met Rachael from Afrocenchix on her visit to Sweden. I contacted Afrocenchix a while back to ask if I could get some samples to review. I'm currently looking for more companies that sell products that are natural for curly hair and more locally than the States (since a lot of products for curls are made in the States, which equals expensive shipping costs).
Afrocenchix is a UK based company, but the ship internationally (yes, that means all us Swedish Naturals can order from them). The company was founded by Rachael and one of her friends and is still a small scale company, but growning. All their products are 100% Natural & 100% Handmade! And they use Fair Trade ingredients in their products. What's there not to like about that? And their prices are really descent as well!
Rachael and I sat down and talked natural hair for little over an hour. It was nice to hear about their company and their plans for the future. It's very inspiring to meet someone who is doing something so positive when it comes to hair care. We talked about the effect hair has on your self-esteem, about being dark skinned in a predominantley light skinned straight haired society, and the big knowledge gap that still exists when it comes to naturally curly hair.
Rachael brought me all these products to try (they are not even samples, they are regular sized) and I am beyond grateful and excited to try them all! :)
