New EU Directives for Cosmetics
Some of you may already have heard, but in case you missed it there may be some changes coming our way (in Europe) in regards to hair products. As of July this year the EU will have new directives when it comes to cosmetics products (which includes hair products) that may 'cause some of our favorite products to no longer be available on the European market. Many of the US companies will have to review their product labeling and traceability to adhere to the new EU directives. Those who can't or won't adhere to the new directives are not allowed to be sold on the EU market.
Currently I know nothing more than this. It's still not clear which products will or will not be available on the EU market a few months from now. But the risk is great that we'll loose access to a lot of the US brands sold by European based companies as I understand it. Most of my favorite products are from US companies so I'm a bit worried. On the other hand I think it's good to support more local brands if possible, and as you know I'm up for trying new things. Time will tell how this will affect us, the consumers.
