Why CCC?
I just wanted to sit down and explain who we are and why we are hosting this event called Cph Curls & Conversation.
Who are we?
Well, we are two friends, one located in Denmark and one in Sweden, with Afro-Caribbean/European roots who love our curls. :) More specifically we are Elianna & Nandi. We are both students and this is far from our "day job". But, we wanted to attend an event like this, and since there was none around we decided to host our own.
Why are we hosting this event?
Because there is a lack or knowledge in Scandinavia when it comes to naturally curly hair. People have a hard time caring for their own hair because there's nowhere to turn for tips and ideas. We want to change this. The only option for naturally curly hair should not be a relaxer, texturizer or weave, and if this is what you choose then go for it. We just want everyone to feel like they have the choice and knowledge to choose to have their hair the way they were born with if they want to.
Also, finding products for naturally curly hair is not always the easiest, we want to help change this as well. That's why we have invited companies to the event that have products that are manufactured just for us naturally curly haired people. Our aim is to support and promote local companies, mainly Scandinavian or based in Europe. At the event you will get the chance to ask questions about products and hair care not only to other people with similar hair to yours but also to the people that sell the products. You will be able to get first hand help when choosing products for your hair and tips on how to use them.
What is included in the ticket price?
I know some of you may think "What? 150DKK? That's a lot of money!" Yes, we would have liked to sell the tickets for less. But keep in mind we are two people doing this with no funding whatsoever, and we have to pay for rental of the location, food and drinks, bags for goody bags, and so on. We will be making zero profit out of this event. Actually we might loose some money. :( But, this event is so important to us that it will be worth it.
So for your ticket price you will get: A goody bag with samples hair products from participating companies. Drinks and a light lunch to help you keep your energy up during the day catered by Anne's Gademad & Catering. A raffle ticket and a chance to win prizes donated from natural hair related companies (great prizes, I wish I could keep them all!).
Also there will be short presentations held to get you updated on knowledge about your naturally curly hair. I will write more about this in detail later.
Why do you need to get your ticket before the event?
Due to limited space at the location we can only allow a certain amount of tickets to be sold. We have put a final date on ticket sales in order to make sure we have enough food and drinks at the event. As well as enough goody bags.
Why should you come to this event?
Because you are curious to learn more about how to care for your hair or your child's hair. You want to get new ideas, try new products and meet new people. Keep in mind that this is the first event of its kind in Scandinavia so you won't want to miss it. ;)
